Managing OPCFOnce upon a time changing things on the FDR system involved completing complex paper based forms and sending them to FDI within unworkable service levels. Then came online PCF. Online PCF (OPCF) was supposed to allow clients to key and submit system changes without the need for FDI's intervention. It brought with it fabulous new functionality. Making changes was supposed to get easier, simpler and faster, and paper was supposed to be a thing of the past.
And what about the MIS ? Does anyone at First Data really believe the suite of OPCF reports are in any way a patch on the BW-022 ? Truth is, in our experience, whilst OPCF is a powerful and sophisticated system, "making life easier" was a design objective that we believe First Data elected to sacrifice for the sake of some other bells and whistles. If you're working with OPCF on a moderate to large credit card portfolio, whilst you can make changes with relative ease, working out what those changes should be and general day to day housekeeping of all your methods, strategies and PIs is not possible within OPCF alone.
